No ducking the issue

I was rather amused by this report from leasing broker Leasecar on humorous attempts to highlight the growing issue of potholes. This one, a puddle duck party outside the village pub of Steeple Aston in Oxfordshire, wins my vote.

But ducking the issue is not fun for the UK’s business drivers. The annual spend on pothole repairs has dropped by £42 million (29%) since 2014 according to research by AA Tyres. Which means greater risk to you and your car; and increased spend on maintenance, such as replacement tyres and suspension parts.

Insignia on steroids – I love it

The sight of muscled up standard car always does it for me. How the every day runaround company car can be turned into a piece of outrageously fast beefcake.

Vauxhall have previous on this. The Lotus Carlton was an unforgettable experience. And set so many standards. But now we have the latest in the long line of fast Vauxhalls – the Insignia GSI – the fastest Vauxhall around the towering, infamous Nurburgring. Probably one to take on a personal lease outside the normal company car tax offerings…

Colour combos – confusion or liberation?

Who knew? The new Citroen C3 Aircross – another great B-SUV contender – can be ordered in a perplexing 83 colour combinations. I struggle to get a pair of socks the right colour in the morning, let alone getting the colour matches right when I have 83 to choose from. Too much choice? Or perfect personalisation? Electric can save thousands on company car tax

Company car drivers can save on company car tax by choosing an EV. Which is great. And true. But EVs are not currently suitable for all company car drivers. So while the direction of travel is clear – we are moving towards an increasingly electrified future – don’t rule out other fuels, such as diesel, just yet. Read more about the savings here.
