Clean London driving

  • Latest plug-in and fuel cell vehicles on display in London’s West End;
  • New Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and hydrogen-fuelled Toyota Mirai join line-up;
  • Variety of ultra low emission vehicles available for public test drives;
  • Weekend away in an EV competition prize.

PROVING that clean, green motoring is far from being a pipe-dream the whole range of ultra low emission vehicles (ULEVs) will be showcased at a top London motor show this weekend.

Everything available in the UK today, from plug-in hybrids to zero-emission electric and hydrogen cars, will displayed at the Regent Street Motor Show this Saturday.

Visitors can experience some of the lowest emitting, most fuel-efficient models available today and discover for themselves why demand for these vehicles has never been so high.

In a first for the Regent Street Motor Show, the Go Ultra Low stand will display the newest plug-in cars that produce less than 75g/km of CO2, including a first UK public viewing for the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and Toyota’s new hydrogen-powered Mirai.

The eye-catching BMW i8 sports car will also be on show, alongside the popular Nissan LEAF, Renault ZOE and the latest Toyota Prius Plug-in.

Visitors to the show will also have the opportunity to test drive some of the cars on a nearby street circuit. A valid driving licence will enable drivers over the age of 21 to access a selection of plug-in cars and experience the thrill of electric driving first-hand.

Also joining the Go Ultra Low display line-up is the latest in clean public transport, as Transport for London presents its latest electric bus, alongside a classic Routemaster double-decker.

To celebrate its participation in the Regent Street Motor Show, Go Ultra Low is offering visitors to the stand and followers of @GoUltraLow on Twitter the chance to win a weekend away in an electric car, staying at a top eco-hotel.

Details on how to enter will be revealed on the stand at the show and also on the @GoUltraLow Twitter channel.

Poppy Welch, head of Go Ultra Low, said: “These ultra low emission vehicles don’t just represent the future of motoring, but are a compelling option right now.

“We are looking forward to showing visitors to the Regent Street Motor Show why increasing numbers of drivers are switching-on to the financial benefits, including fuel costs from just 2p-per-mile, and practicalities of owning and running an electric vehicle.”
