ALPHABET has announced that Simon Carr from LeasePlan has joined the UK executive team as chief commercial officer.

Carr joins Alphabet from LeasePlan where he held the position of brand director and had served in a number of leadership roles across their business channels since 2007.

Simon Carr is a well-known and respected figure within the UK leasing and mobility industry.

This latest appointment completes a series of top-level management changes at the company over the past 12 months, which has included the appointment of new head of compliance Leanne Christmas in January and new chief financial officer Stefan Oswald who joined the business in March.

Christmas, Oswald and now Carr join an established executive team led by CEO Nick Brownrigg comprising Adam Lupton (HR director), Matt Sutherland (chief operating officer) and John Chuhan (chief risk officer).

Simon Carr explained: “It is a fantastic time to join a company that has turned the mobility vision into a working reality for customers.

“One of the most exciting aspects for me will be enhancing relationships with Alphabet’s broad customer base to collaboratively develop the next generation of our products and services. As the leasing and mobility industry enters a new defining era, I am looking forward to helping Alphabet shape it.”

Nick Brownrigg, CEO for Alphabet GB, commented; “I’m extremely pleased to welcome Simon to Alphabet after a rigorous international search for what is a vitally important position for our business.

“We’re excited to have recruited someone of Simon’s personal qualities, professional calibre and industry experience.

“He will play a pivotal role in leading the future development of Alphabet’s commercial activities, new product initiatives and the ongoing efforts to increase our customer focus.”
