Leasing Broker Federation opportunities:

  • Meeting the funders (Alphabet, Arval, Hitachi and Lex Autolease)
  • Meeting car and van manufacturers
  • Meeting suppliers to the sector
  • Launching the Federation’s survey of members

THE Small Fleet Leasing Federation is rebranding to the simpler, and more direct Leasing Broker Federation.

With more than 200,000 contracts through the broker network by the end of last year, leasing brokers are becoming a significant sales channel for both leasecos and manufacturers.

And with the regulation imposed by the FCA, the professionalism and levels of expert service provided by leasing brokers is being fully recognised.

“The decision to rebrand reflects the significant standing leasing brokers now have as a legitimate and regulated channel for car and van sales,” commented Ralph Morton, editorial director, Business Car Manager.

“When we first started our awards three years ago and talked about creating a Federation, many car manufacturers had a sniffy – or at least, deeply ambiguous – attitude towards brokers.  This has changed fundamentally.

“Not only do brokers shift significant volume to the SME sector and above, but any lingering doubts about ‘the bedroom brokers’ has been dispersed by the requirement for FCA regulation. Brokers are a legitimate, fully regulated, sales channel. Full stop.”

While the name has changed, the fundamentals of the Federation have not: to promote the leasing broker sector (through awards and news stories) and provide networking opportunities.

The Federation website will continue to be served as a micro site on Business Car Manager – click here to access it.

A new standalone website is being built and the Federation will migrate to that in due course. There is also a new twitter handle: @LeasingBrokers – so don’t forget to follow us!
