Telogis has worked with GM since 2011 on the OnStar hardware for commercial customers

Along with the announcement that Telogis has received an equity investment from GM Ventures, the venture capital subsidiary of GM (Vauxhall’s parent), it also announced the launch of the Telogis Fleet for GM solution.

The investment extends the existing partnership between GM and Telogis that was formed earlier this year to take advantage of the manufacturer’s OnStar, which brings Telogis’ telematics and fleet management solutions to GM customers.

Telogis has worked with the GM team to deliver built-in intelligence solutions and services to commercial GM customers owning vehicles built from 2011 and equipped with OnStar hardware.

No additional hardware is required to activate Telogis Fleet services.

Ed Peper, US vice president, GM Fleet and Commercial, said: “The ability for all GM fleet customers  – including those Vauxhall customers in the UK – to pull this kind of data off of their vehicles is one of the biggest differentiators in the fleet and commercial industry.

“Telogis Fleet for GM will be a complete game-changer for our customers by helping them optimise their businesses.”

Paul Alder, Vauxhall’s fleet marketing and motability manager added: “This is very much a work in progress for Vauxhall but when it does launch it will offer a fantastic business proposition to SMEs.”
