BOOM! Enter the super SUV: the take no prisoners Lamborghini Urus.
If you own a successful small business, and want an ultimate sports car you can take to meetings…then this could be it.
The Lamborghini Urus will accelerate to 62mph in 3.6 seconds and eventually top out at 195mph.
And all the while your stellar forward motion will be accompanied by the crackle from the thumping 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 delivering 650hp along the way and a horizon-reducing 850Nm of torque. Wow!
But it has five doors and five seats. Eco it’s not; but stunning it certainly is.
Stefano Domenicali, Automobili Lamborghini chairman and chief executive officer didn’t hold back. He told Business Car Manager:
“The Lamborghini Urus is a visionary approach based on the infusion of Lamborghini DNA into the most versatile vehicle, the SUV. The Urus elevates the SUV to a level not previously possible, the Super SUV. It is a true Lamborghini in terms of design, performance, driving dynamics and emotion as well as drivable every day in a range of environments.”
It’s not just on-road performance. The Lamborghini Urus has a four-wheel drive system featuring a Torsen central self-locking differential split 40/60 to the independent front/rear axle as standard, with a dynamic maximum torque of 70% to the front or 87% to the rear, enhancing traction to the axle with greater ground friction.
Inside the Urus develops into a luxury sports car, with three-spoke steering wheel incorporating a vibration damper to enhance comfort and multifunction controls including the Lamborghini Infotainment System (LIS), car set-up, media, telephone and navigation.
A customisable fully-digital TFT display shows the Urus’ main information in an animated 3D representation.
The standard front DNA memory sport seats are fully electric, heated and 12-way adjustable while M18-way fully-electric front seats are an option, including features such as ventilation and massage. The three seat rear bench seat as standard comes with a movable and folding seat back and ISOFIX fixings.
As an option, a more exclusive two-seat rear layout can be specified providing enhanced rear passenger space in a sportier environment.
The Lamborghini Urus is not the first SUV from the Italian Sant’Agata Bolognese car producer – there was the brutal LM002 as well.
But this super SUV Urus is a very different SUV.
So how much will this super SUV cost? From £131,500.
