Dacia is a retail proposition but does appeal to small business users – Mark Dickens

WITH the arrival of revised Dacia added value models in the UK, we spoke Mark Dickens to see what the budget brand had to offer for SME buyers.

Mark has been the head of fleet sales operations and remarketing at Renault since 2014 and has been mostly responsible for the French car brand’s revival in the UK.

What proportion of Dacia volume will be going through the leasecos in 2017?

Minimal, and on an as-and-when basis.  Dacia sales are currently over 98% retail – we operate a ‘pull’ strategy that relies on the value and appeal of the model line-up.”

How will Dacia volume be split between fleet/retail? Can you outline the trim percentage split of fleet?

Dacia is a retail proposition but does appeal to small business users – in fact, since the announcement of the 2017 model year versions we have been speaking to some nationwide companies about running Dacia fleets for the first time as they can see the incredible value proposition that they represent.”

With the arrival of the new range, will Dacia be increasing its support for the leasing sector?

“No. Instead, we have added value to the product and enhanced its specification and appeal, with air-conditioning now standard from Ambiance trim level, with prices still starting from just £6,995.”

Whats the one thing youd like to achieve with Dacia and the leasecos in 2017?

Having a value-driven PCH offer to meet the growing SME migration to PCH.”

Whats Dacias SME business support strategy for 2017?

“We have a bespoke SME fleet field team (for fleets up to 100 vehicles, and one for larger corporate fleets) and they will continue to sell both Renault and Dacia.

“Our Business Support Hub continues to deal with requests for demonstrations for both Renault and Dacia.  This ensures an aligned approach from both brands to the customer.”

Can you give me nine business reasons to buy one of the updated Dacia range?

  • Lowest holding cost (P11D price)
  • Quality and reliability from using proven Renault Group engineering.
  • Sandero Ambiance comes as standard with air-conditioning and is the lowest priced car with A/C on the UK market
  • Sandero is the UK’s most affordable car at £5,995.
  • Duster is the UK’s most affordable SUV at £9,495.
  • Logan MCV is the UK’s most affordable estate car at £6,995.
  • Logan MCV has one of the leading boot capacities on the estate car market – and bigger than several C-segment estates.
  • Duster now has a EDC dual-clutch transmission available – the UK’s best value automatic SUV and with advanced dual-clutch technology.
  • Dacia uses the Renault dealer network so is represented by over 160 dealers across the United Kingdom. Dacia was rated 2nd of all manufacturers in the 2016 Driver Power Dealer Satisfaction Survey – only behind sister company Renault.
