DAWSONGROUP is opening a new purpose-built facility in Harworth to be home to an expanding fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and a team of over 30 people.

This latest investment comes after a strong period of continued growth for the Doncaster vans team who have the taken business from a standing start to over 800 vehicles in less than five years.

Commenting on the growth for the business Sean Hewis, senior area sales manager said: “As a team at Doncaster we are absolutely delighted that our hard work and efforts have been rewarded by this significant investment.

“We are continually challenged to lead, develop and grow our business units and funding and support only comes to those that demonstrate that they have an area capability of justifying investment. Therefore, it’s great for us, great for our customers and absolutely fantastic news for the region in terms of employment opportunity for the local community.”

The new facility will include hardstanding for several hundred vehicles housed securely with electric perimeter fencing and dedicated workspace, office accommodation and employee resting facilities as well as a parts storage facility and two wash bays.

The site will also feature a modular body-shop which will enable the team to expedite repairs of all kinds and mobile maintenance facilities to ensure customer vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum.

Katrina Burns, branch sales manager of the truck and trailer business, commented: “We are extremely excited about the move to our new purpose-built facility.

“We have held a heavy presence in the Yorkshire and Humber area as a provider of truck rental services for many years and we aim to continue to build on this even further as we move forward.”

John Fletcher, managing director of Dawsonrentals, added: “This is an important area for commerce within the UK as a whole, so it is important for us to be able to serve it both effectively and efficiently.

“Our business offers everything from 7.5t trucks to 44t tractors, along with dry freight and refrigerated trailers. The Group’s investment in Harworth gives us and our colleagues in the vans business everything that we need to offer a first-class service alongside one of the most diverse and modern rental fleets in the country.”
