Brave investment decisions by Vanarama included launching a TV advert, as well as a new version of the Vanarama website updating versions of both the Pickup Trucks Direct and Autorama websites.
In July it sought to further raise its profile with by entering a three year partnership with the Football Conference.
Vanarama has been given exclusive naming rights for the competition with the leagues now being called the Vanarama Conference, Vanarama Conference North and Vanarama Conference South.
This gives it naming rights on all major TV channels (such as BBC, Sky and BT Sport), advertising boards at all 68 club grounds and branding on club clothing and websites.
“For me this is the outstanding entry in this section,” said judge Nigel Trotman, Strategic Fleet Consultant at Alphabet.
“A fairly brave decision for a business of this type and size to invest in TV advertising has had a huge impact on the size and reach of the business and has led to other key marketing decisions such as that to sponsor the Football Conference.
The entry provides clear evidence of a well-researched campaign, with a very clear target audience, plus real evidence of the impact on the business and its profile. Personally, this campaign has made me aware of the brand, which was new to me.”
