BUSINESS mobility and fleet specialist Alphabet’s technical services team has been boosted with two new technical services business development managers, Tim Howett and Andy Williams.

While long-standing employee Williams moves from his previous position with the company as technical operations manager, Howlett joins Alphabet bringing over 15 years of leasing knowledge and expertise, with over a decade of his time within the industry specialising in operational excellence and service delivery for leasing companies.

He also brings a good understanding of the lease customer perspective and their challenges, having spent the earlier part of his career in fleet and rental management roles with DANKA UK and Aon Rental Business Services.

The two newly-created technical services business development manager roles ensure that Alphabet’s ‘in life’ operations continue to remain market-leading.

This includes understanding the changing customer requirements of the fleet decision maker and their company car driver, as well as managing the service delivery to exceed expectations.

With responsibility for new initiatives on all aftersales topics – including tyre and glass management, accident management, development of the Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR) network, as well as new challenges created by the opportunities from increasingly ‘connected’ vehicles – Howett and Williams will work closely with Alphabet’s customers, suppliers and stakeholders to understand new market trends, as well as plan and implement changes.

Kit Wisdom, head of technical services, says: “We are delighted to welcome Tim to the technical services team with his passion for the industry and delivering outstanding levels of customer service.

“Tim and Andy’s depth and breadth of experience will be vital in driving operational excellence in Alphabet’s technical service delivery. Their roles are involved with both the continual improvement of our existing services, as well as implementing changes to help us meet the new technological challenges and opportunities presented by the connected car revolution.

“As such, Tim and Andy’s appointments are crucial to the continued development of our successful relationships with customers and suppliers alike. Like the industry, Alphabet is continually evolving, with ambitions for development and growth that require our Technical Services team to proactively support and drive these exciting changes within our business and in the market.”
