Front and four-wheel drive versions of the new Fiat 500X will be available

The front-wheel diesels get a 95PS 1.3-litre MultiJet engine equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox or a 120PS 1.6-litre MultiJet with a six-speed manual gearbox. The four-wheel drive diesel engine is a 140PS 2.0-litre MultiJet II with a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.

Among the safety systems available on the Fiat 500X are front fog lights with adaptive cornering, electronic stability control, a lane departure warning system, a lane change assistance system and a ParkView reversing camera.

The Fiat 500X is also offered with a “Drive Mood Selector” that provides three different modes for engine, brakes, steering and gearbox/transmission settings: “Auto” is supposed to offer the best compromise for day-to-day driving, while “Sport” provides better performance and sharper handling. “All Weather” alters the vehicle settings for maximum safety in low grip conditions.

The Fiat 500X goes on sale in the UK in the second quarter of 2015; all engine and transmission combinations except for the 2.4-litre petrol will be available.
