Ford dominance
- Ford is UK market leader in total vehicle, car and CV sales

- Fiesta is UK best-seller, with Focus 3rd
FIESTA rules the roost as Ford increases domination of the UK market with total vehicle sales up 15.9%, treble the market growth, to top the car and commercial vehicle sectors and reign supreme overall.
Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said: “The UK market’s robust growth was evident across all sectors in November, and it is particularly rewarding to see Ford’s strengthening its leadership position by a significant margin.
“This is the benefit of ongoing investment in exciting products and industry-leading technologies, both in cars and CVs. Our latest newcomers, including C-MAX, S-MAX, Galaxy, Mustang and Mondeo Vignale, will boost our sales momentum even more.”
The official figures released by the SMMT show total car sales in November up 3.8% to 178,876 units, compared with November 2014. Ford car sales were up 12.7% at 21,597. For the year to date (end November) total UK car sales were 2,453,426, up 6.2% against 2014. Ford car sales for this period were 312,006, some 63,070 registrations ahead of its nearest rival.
The Fiesta notched up 7,826 sales in November, 559 over the Vauxhall Corsa, and with 124,457 total registrations for the year to date the Ford is the UK best seller over the Vauxhall by 39,294 sales and 1.6% market share.
