2. Ingenium engines

There’ll be an engine to suit all needs in the new XE. A frugal 161bhp 2.0-litre diesel will no doubt be the pick of the bunch among company car buyers but for those who aren’t ruled by running costs Jaguar has a variety of other engines that will appeal.

Another 180bhp version of the same 2.0-litre diesel engine will be on the table, along with two 2.0-litre petrol engines. Although not Ingenium petrol engines – these will follow later.

At the top of the range will sit a 336bhp 3.0-litre supercharged V6, which is the same unit you’ll find in the racy F-Type.
