Eat Less Meat

Meat production creates two huge problems for our environment.

Methane produced naturally by animals is a greenhouse gas that makes a significant contribution towards global warming.

The other problem is that large swathes of land are being cleared to create grazing land and pastures for livestock.

Deforestation of the Amazon rainforest is of particular concern, and the destruction of the lungs of our planet is in a large part due to the beef industry.

Vegetarians produce on average 3000 tons fewer of carbon dioxide every year than meat eaters.

Some people find switching to a completely vegetarian diet difficult, but by reducing your meat consumption you can still make a positive difference

Be a Carbon Aware Driver

We all know that cars contribute to greenhouse gases, but many people don’t realize the impact that their style of driving makes to their carbon footprint.

Rapid acceleration and sharp braking increase carbon emissions, so by driving smoothly and sticking to the speed limits you can make your car much greener.

It’s also worth looking for newer models of car, that have been designed to be more environmentally friendly.

Manufacturers such as Chrysler are producing more eco-friendly engines, and by taking advantage of their latest car finance deals, switching to a greener car doesn’t have to be expensive.
