OPERATIONAL sales and profit improvement initiative company AMS has announced that former senior Honda Motor Europe Executive, Harvey Hughes, will be joining them at their global head office in Burnham to lead the new Automotive Innovation Unit.

Harvey’s brief is to develop services and products to support new and used car sales, digital media, profit improvement, customer journey and aftersales.

His first assignment will be focusing on used car profit improvement workshops across Europe, and he will also be working on developing effective new media sales strategies.

AMS Managing Director, Darren Atkin, said;

“The pace of change within the automotive industry is very exciting.  New technology, retailing concepts and business models are enhancing the customer experience, and Harvey’s appointment means we will continue to offer innovative products and services to our clients.

“Often, industry so-called “experts” can identify areas for performance improvement but – without real operational knowledge – fail to deliver practical solutions for performance improvement.  Harvey’s appointment means we will continue to have a clear advantage in this area.

“Harvey is an experienced and respected automotive professional who shares our vision of working ever-closer with forward-thinking dealers and manufacturers.  We are delighted that AMS is able to attract this level of talent.”

Harvey’s most recent position was Head of Honda Motor Europe’s Dealer Business Development. Other roles at Honda included head of Honda’s European and UK Fleet division.
