THE new look Honda Jazz could be great news for company car drivers looking to downsize.
In a sneak peek ahead of its launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show, 16-24 September, Honda has revealed the updated Jazz with changes to the exterior styling, interior trim, and a new engine option.
The exterior changes bring the new Jazz into line with the rest of the Honda range. The front has been redesigned to share the “Solid Wing Face” headlights and grille found on the latest Civic models. The sculpted bumpers and aggressive contours give the Jazz a more purposeful look. There’s also a new metallic Skyride Blue colour option.
The newly updated Jazz retains the practicality of previous models with a 354 litre boot that can be extended by folding down the rear seats. It may be a small car but that doesn’t mean it has to feel that way.
To prove that point standard equipment in the new Honda Jazz includes cruise control, automatic headlights, and City-Brake Active safety system. Move up through the grades and you can add a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED headlights, rear-view parking camera, keyless operation, and advanced safety systems such as traffic sign recognition.
The new engine joining the range is a 1.5-litre i-Vtec unit offering 130PS that will sit alongside the existing 102PS 1.3-litre. The 1.5-litre engine will be offered as part of the new Sport grade which adds a new front splitter and rear diffuser to the Jazz. The extra power should mean the updated Honda Jazz is equally at home on the motorway as it is in town.
Couple the new engine with Honda’s excellent CVT automatic transmission and you can expect to see economy figures around 52mpg and 124g/km. These are the kind of returns that could entice downsizing company car drivers to seriously consider the new Honda Jazz.
There are no prices as yet but with the new models available to order from November we shouldn’t have to wait too long.
