The British built Civic did well in its class. Honda reliability added to the frugality of the new 1.6 diesel makes this a very attractive company car option

WHEN it comes to reliability it seems Honda is definitely number one.

The Japanese car maker has beaten all comers to be named the most reliable manufacturer in the annual What Car? and Warranty Direct Reliability Survey for an unprecedented eighth year in succession.

This success means SMEs looking for a car that won’t let them down will certainly be casting an eager eye over the Honda line-up.

The survey is based on real claims data and is a compilation of reviews and opinions of more than 50,000 car owners. It takes into account the average yearly repair costs, common model issues and the owners overall reliability score for their car.

Honda models feature prominently throughout the survey with the Accord and the British built Jazz and Civic continuing to do well in their respective classes while the HRV was named the most reliable compact SUV.

Honda has 8 years in the number one reliability survey slot

Phil Crossman, Managing Director, Honda (UK) commented; “Reliability is at the heart of all our research, development and manufacturing processes and this ensures we build reliable and high quality cars.

“We strive to deliver an enjoyable and hassle free Honda ownership to all our customers, from the moment they purchase, right through the lifetime of the car.

“Success in reliability studies further proves the dedication, skill and passion of our engineers, associates and dealer network. We are incredibly proud to be the most reliable manufacturer in the industry – yet again!”

Honda’s eight years in the number one position in the survey isn’t its only success story when it comes to being recognised for reliability.

The latest win comes hot on the heels of the Which? Car Reliability and Best Buy survey which saw the Jazz and Insight taking the top spots in their respective categories.

Latest models from Honda include the Honda Civic and CR-V with the new business car favourite 1.6D engine, a unit that will soon be seen in the new Civic Wagon.
