HUDSON Kapel has confirmed the expansion of its Scratch and Dent facility with the opening of a new site near Bolton in Lancashire.

The new facility is modelled on the original one in Bedfordshire, that remains in place and, which over the last few years has provided daily rental, contract hire and leasing companies with a fast and cost effective way of remarketing over 27,000 nearly-new damaged vehicles up to 2-3 years old.

“We have invested heavily in our Scratch and Dent service,” said Hudson Kapel managing director, Simon Withey, “and the opening of our new facility near Bolton is designed to provide to customers a more comprehensive and national service.

“Key to the success of Scratch and Dent is the totally transparent approach to the business of remarketing nearly new vehicles, together with the expert knowledge and specialist buying expertise provided by our company. The major benefit to companies is the transfer of responsibility for disposing of these vehicles, which is not core to their business activities.”

Hudson Kapel has also invested in new technologies with its Scratch and Dent service now including wi-fi access, assisting buyers in making bids but also allowing them to keep in touch with their own business environment.

Sales will now take place at both locations every week and registered buyers are able to login to the company’s website to view details of the vehicle for sale and then submit “sealed” bids online up to 1pm on the closing day, which is normally Wednesday.
