THERE’S nothing like boosting the UK’s balance of trade to boost a feel good factor.

And that’s exactly what Hudson Kapel Remarketing – the used vehicle inspection, refurbishment and remarketing company – has done in an export contract with Manheim Australia in a deal valued at half a million pounds.

UK expertise transferred to Australian vehicle remarketing sector

The three-year contract is to provide Manheim Australia with an innovative vehicle book-in and inspection system originally successfully developed in the UK.

The Hudson Kapel Remarketing solution involves handheld units that are networked, in real time, across the Manheim sites interfacing directly with Manheim Australia’s back office system. They support a seamless process of booking in vehicles when they arrive on site as well as managing the vehicle inspection process. These tasks include:

  • work flow based vehicle inspections;
  • identifying vehicle specification;
  • identifying and pricing damage as well as imaging the damage and what needs rectification; vehicle grading; and
  • producing vehicle inspection reports.
