Infiniti’s soaring sales
- Even sales split fleet and retail
- January-April sales up 111% year on year
- April registrations rise 91% compared to 2015
INFINITI scores doubled sales to soar up the premium league and while that success might not match that of Leicester Football Club winning the Premier Football League, it takes pride in being the fastest growing automotive brand in the UK during the first four months of 2016.
With registrations more than doubling year on year Infiniti continues to increase its on-the-road presence. The recently released SMMT new car registration data for April shows the brand has increased registrations by 111% compared to the same period, year on year, in 2015. An increase more than any other automotive brand in the UK.
Registrations in April increased by 91% in comparison to April 2015 thanks mainly to the continual success of the British built Q30.
Barry Beeston, Infiniti country director for the UK, commented: “It’s great to see such strong growth. Leading the market in terms of percentage increase during the first four months of 2016 shows Infiniti’s continuous momentum.”
Barry continued: “As we grow, we naturally push further into all channels in the UK to gain market share and early signs show we have an even sales split between fleet and retail, which is a good indicator that Infiniti is heading in the right direction for future growth and profitability.”
The recent introduction of the active compact Q30, produced from the Sunderland plant in the UK, has demonstrated its game changer capabilities, being the bestselling Infiniti model in the region since its market introduction. The mid-sized Q50 saloon keeps on being popular being the next best-selling model in the range.
The Infiniti range will continue to expand with the introduction of the QX30, due soon, followed by the 2-door sports coupe Q60 later in the autumn. Both were previewed in Geneva.
