IT may have been a bit of a busman’s holiday, but sales manager Dino Landico managed to load his family into the trusty company Vauxhall Insignia and clock a staggering 990 miles on a single tank of diesel.

Landico, who drives one of the Toomey Leasing Group’s 20 five-door Insignias, achieved the feat with his 2.0 CDTi SRi VX-Line, while taking his family of four on a round trip of 3,200 miles from the UK to Naples in Italy.

He was able to eke out an average of 59mpg in his Insignia – impressive for a car fully-loaded with all a busy family’s holiday gear.

“Even with all our luggage, driving the Vauxhall Insignia meant I was able to take my family on holiday without spending a fortune,” explained Landico.

Martin Wroe, managing director of Toomey Leasing Group added: “Lowering carbon emissions is a key priority for the company which is one of the reasons behind why we have chosen the Vauxhall Insignia, which has CO2 emissions of just 98g/km, for our company’s fleet.

Toomey Leasing’s team of sales managers visit clients nationwide and will drive an average of between 15,000 to 35,000 miles per year. All its diesel Insignias have a manual 6-speed transmission, Start/Stop and feature Vauxhall’s satellite navigation system.

So, it’s good to know that it’s not just our judges that think the Vauxhall Insignia is right for SME small fleets.
