FLEET management and funding specialist Lex Autolease is to roll out new iPad technology to improve the end-of-contract process.

The iPad technology is designed to provide “clarity and consistency for both customers and vehicle inspectors”.

It will also go beyond BVRLA standards currently used across the industry.

Andy Hartley, Commercial Director at Lex Autolease, said: “The end-of-contract process can seem daunting for customers. We want to take the lead in creating an easier, smoother and more transparent hire procedure for everyone involved.

“Our new technology will throw open the inspection process for both drivers and fleet managers, and our carefully laid-out pricing structure means there’ll be fewer surprises when customers come to hand back their vehicle.”

“The iPad technology will include full video footage and images of end of contract inspections and any damage found, which will now be available to customers.”

A simplified pricing structure around damage types will also be published in full for customers in advance of their contract expiring. The pricing matrix will detail all charges by vehicle size and damage type.

Invoicing for damage and movement will be automated, and customers can opt in to a series of alerts to be kept fully informed of each stage of the dehire process.

All of the enhanced technology will be available for Lex Autolease customers to access through the newly-improved LAi information portal.
