VOLKSWAGEN has appointed Martin Barrow-Starkey to the role of head of group fleet services at the VW Group.
Barrow-Starkey will take over from Patrick McGillycuddy who has moved to head of sales operations for the VW brand.
Barrow-Starkey will start his new position on March 01, departing from the Volkswagen Group Retailer Learning Services.
Volkswagen reports that During his two year period as head of the learning services team at Volkswagen Group’s National Learning Centre in Wymbush, Milton Keynes, Barrow-Starkey has delivered record breaking numbers of apprentices and qualified staff for the Group’s brands nationwide.
Barrow-Starkey will be tasked with moving group fleet into a new development phase, including implementing new Demonstrator and Business Centre Contracts and delivering high quality services to the Brand Fleet teams.
A Chartered Electrical Engineer, Barrow-Starkey joined Volkswagen Group in 2011, carrying out roles as head of group parts operations as well as dead of sales operations for Skoda.
Barrow-Starkey will report to Alistair Shields, group commercial services director for the Volkswagen Group.
In 2017 Volkswagen Group UK sold 560,934 vehicles across its five brands, with more than half of those sales being to fleet.
