The new Audi A4 saloon has just been awarded a five-star crash test rating by leading safety organisation Euro NCAP.
The maximum five-star score was for adult occupancy protection.
The A4 also received four out of five stars for child protection and two out of four for pedestrian protection.
The A4 was one of seven cars to have undergone the latest round of Euro NCAP crash testing.
The crash tests involve:
- a 40mph frontal impact;
- a 31mph side impact; and
- an 18mph impact into a rigid pole.
The Ford Kuga, Seat Ibiza and Skoda Superb were also awarded five stars.
Every Audi A4 saloon features driver, passenger and front side airbags, with an airbag deactivation switch to enable the use of a rear-facing child seat in the front.
ESP stability control is fitted as standard across the A4 line-up. The Audi A4 is also available with optional driver aids that include adaptive cruise control, a collision warning system, radar-based blindspot assistance and lane departure warning.
