Upgraded Trafficmaster Smartnav and Trackstar package

IF you’re considering a new business van this year, then navigate your way to a Citroen van dealer and check out the latest Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay panel vans.

Because you’re not going to miss another job if you buy one of these vans.

All Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay business vans, come fitted as standard with Trafficmaster Smartnav routing along with a Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking package that has just been upgraded for 2012.

So not only won’t you get lost in your van, your van won’t get lost either.

The latest Trafficmaster Smartnav has a larger colour screen.

The new 5-inch colour screen comes with:

  • Full colour UK and European mapping (European routing requires additional subscription).
  • A choice of 2D or 3D graphics.
  • A choice of mapping colours.
  • Visuals of the route overlaid on the map, as well as next direction and distance displays.
  • Auto-zoom function, plus additional pan and zoom facility.

One key enhancement is the ability to call for emergency assistance via the SOS icon on the colour touchscreen.

Touching this symbol gives the driver access to B-Call (breakdown call) and E-Call (emergency call) facilities. All B-Calls go directly to The AA to ensure the fastest possible response. Other emergencies, such as accidents or driver medical problems, are handed directly by Trafficmaster via the E-Call facility. Trafficmaster then liaises with the emergency services.

When the van driver uses the E-Call function, the driver’s details and GPS location are transmitted simultaneously to Trafficmaster. This feature is soon to be replicated for the B-Call function to The AA.

European legislation will require that all vehicles have similar breakdown and emergency call features from 2015. Citroen is the first manufacturer in the UK van market to offer this service – three years before it is legally required.

There’s additional functionality if you operate a business van fleet. In conjunction with Trafficmaster’s optional fleet management tool, Fleet Director, the colour screen allows two-way messaging, providing the van fleet operator with clear and safe communication to all vehicles on the fleet. Citroen is offering Fleet Director real-time fleet management system for just £19.95 + VAT per month, per vehicle.

Scott Michael, Citroen’s commercial vehicle operations manager commented: “Citroen vans are designed to deliver both optimum environmental performance and low whole life operating costs. In its latest form, Citroen’s unique Trafficmaster and Trackstar telematics package materially assists in this process by helping to improve productivity, reduce driver stress levels and raise safety standards.”

The Trafficmaster Smartnav telematics system fitted to Citroën vans comes with the following subscriptions:-

  • 3 years of dynamic navigation.
  • 3 years of stolen vehicle tracking.
  • 3 years of automatically downloaded traffic information for congestion avoidance.
  • 3 months of ‘Safe Speed’ safety camera alerts.
  • 10 free calls to Trafficmaster’s Personal Assistance service.
