Vauxhall’s New Insignia: huge savings on running costs for SME small fleets

VAUXHALL’S New Insignia is about to help business car managers of SME small fleets wipe thousands off their cost base.

Thanks to reductions in the P11D price, better fuel economy and improved residual values, the New Insignia delivers a massive £5000 saving to the bottom line of any SME business.

The key to the New Insignia’s improved financial performance againts the old model Insignia is the reduction in the P11D values ranging from £3000 to £35000.

The second is the reduced CO2 emissions from the revised 2.0 diesel engines now down to 99g/km in both 120PS and 140PS power outputs.

Not only does this deliver reduced company car tax for the driver, but it saves on National Insurance contributions (NIC) for the SME employer and in fuel costs – there’s now 76.3mpg fuel economy.

Vauxhall says the NIC saving is £500 over three years and 60,000 miles – about £14 a month, while the saving in fuel costs is £800.

The third is an upswing in residual values to the tune of £500 against the old Insignia, but as high as high as £750 for the new 99g/km 130PS ecoFlex model.

Adding up all these cost reductions the Whole Life Costs – a figure reflecting the true cost of financing and expensing a company car over a period of time – of the New Insignia have been improved massively.

The result is radical improvements worth £3500 in the New Insignia’s running costs against some of its key company car rivals, such as the Ford Mondeo and the Volkswagen Passat.

“From a whole life cost perspective for businesses running the New Insignia, the savings can amount to £3000 against a Mondeo and the same against the Passat – this is on our entry level models but is applicable all the way through the range,” commented Paul Adler, fleet marketing manager, Vauxhall.

The savings for a business car manager running an SME small fleet of company cars are show in the table below:
