The new Audi S4 performance saloon and S4 Avant estate will have the option of a sports differential.

The new Audi S4 will be powered by a new 3.0-litre, supercharged V6 power unit. It produces 333PS and 440Nm of torque.

This new unit replaces the V8 engine of the previous S4. While there’s no loss of performance, fuel efficiency is better by 26%.

To make the most of this power, a new sports diff provides more adjustability to the four-wheel drive quattro system.

The sports diff allows more power to be fed to the rear wheels; and then distributes the power to the rear wheel that requires power most. The sports diff reacts in less than 100 milliseconds – faster than the anti-skid ESP system.

For enthusiastic entrepreneurs and business owers, it promises a more dynamic drive.

The new sports differential option costs £460. The new Audi S4 saloon costs £34,260; and the Audi S4 Avant £35,600.
