Disguised Opel Corsa testing
It’s the new Vauxhall Corsa – honest! Under the disguise is the new Vauxhall supermini promising an exciting drive along with outstanding fuel economy

IT might not look much like the new Vauxhall Corsa. But under all that disguise is, indeed, Vauxhall’s new-look supermini.

We haven’t heard much from Vauxhall about what the next Corsa will be like, but over on the other side of the Channel, the British company’s continental cousins at Opel has been dropping some fairly big hints about it – and they’ve even published these ‘spy’ shots of the new car out testing, albeit in heavy disguise.

So what do we know about the new Vauxhall Corsa?

Well it seems likely that the main attraction of the fifth-generation Corsa is going to be its new three-cylinder 1.0-litre ECOTEC petrol engine which promises to be highly fuel efficient and low on company car tax.

We don’t know what the full line-up will look like, but Opel has officially said that there will be a 115 PS turbo-charged version, which should give pretty good performance in a car the Corsa’s size, especially in conjunction with a new six-speed manual gearbox.
