Car servicing
The AA estimates that around half all vehicle breakdowns could be prevented by proper maintenance

ACCORDING to a recent survey by the AA and Populus, 12% of their 21,510 respondents admitted to either missing or delaying a scheduled service for their car, with 8% not bothering to go at all.

The findings also showed that drivers in the Wales and south-west of the country were most notorious for missing their service, whilst those in the north-east, Northern Ireland and Scotland were more inclined to keep their car in good condition.

The AA has also said that around half of all vehicle breakdowns could be prevented through the correct servicing and maintenance. This is because putting your car through a regular service will help bring to attention any minor defects that may turn into more serious and expensive problems later down the line.

When it comes to the world of car servicing, it is no secret that flash usually means cash, with many of the top manufacturers charging a lot more than what car owners can afford. In fact, cost alone is what seems to be putting many car owners off the idea of having their car serviced regularly.

In a separate survey by the Independent Garage Association (IGA), it was discovered that labour costs for having a car serviced at a franchise garage average out at over £90 per hour, without taking into account the additional price of parts, lubricants and other general vehicle consumables, such as oil and screen wash.

Car service costs at independent garages, however, came up at around £40 per hour, less than half of that charged by larger vehicle franchises.

Independently owned, all garages in the Approved Network offer competitive prices, dealer approved parts and a high quality of service. You can visit the easy to use ‘Simple Three Step Booking’ system on our website to get a quote or contact your closest dealership to book your car in
