Tesla Model X

Tesla’s Model X SUV

With its captivating ‘falcon’ wings that rise above the car allowing you to get in and out, Tesla continues to challenge conventional cars. After the Model S comes this, the Model X SUV. All electric and all-wheel drive, range is some 250 miles depending on which model you choose – fast or super fast. Tesla says Model X is the first electric vehicle with a 2,268 kg towing capacity. Expect this zero emission SUV this summer with a likely £65k price ticket.

Toyota C-HR

And you thought Toyota did boring… think again. This stunning coupe-styled SUV, with hidden handles for the rear doors,  is really quite something. Called C-HR, the SUV will be available as a 1.8-litre petrol hybrid and with a 1.2 petrol engine, so it’s more for tackling the high street than the rutted lanes. With 90 g/km CO2 emissions, it looks set to be kind on company car tax too.

Vauxhall Mokka X

Vauxhall are hardly newcomers to the SUV party, having debuted the Mokka back in 2012. But to keep up with the SUV crowd, Vauxhall has revamped the exterior and interior of the Mokka and added a new designator: X. Vauxhall says the new Mokka X will be the first model to introduce the “X” segment identifier for future Vauxhall SUV and crossover vehicles. So watch this space for more. Mokka X goes on sale at the back end of this year.

Volvo V90

The Volvo V90 estate

A big Volvo estate – and some. It’s really what Volvo does best and the V90 looks no exception. Great to look at, practical, and unlike its great predecessors a dash more style both inside and out. The all-new V90 goes on sale at the end of March with a range of diesels and Volvo’s low emission 47g/km tax-beating T8 Twin Engine plug-in petrol-electric hybrid.  Prices are likely to start at around £34,000.
