LAST month RAC Business Services launched RAC Business Club, a free-to-members 24/7 service for company car and small fleet managers at small to medium enterprises (SMEs).
The thinking was simple: SME directors don’t just manage their company car fleets. Far from it.
Some 98 per cent perform a variety of other duties from management to sales – in other words doing their job for their company. But when it comes to their small fleet –they need help.
RAC Business Club gives members a password and login to access the secure online portal, from which they can manage their small fleet. It is backed by a helpline.
Since the launch 20,000 SMEs have already been set up on the system. Non-RAC customers can also access RAC Business Club for a small monthly fee.
But what can they expect to see and do? We asked RAC senior proposition manager Keith Mortimer for a quick overview.

“Another benefit is any transaction data, for example fuel card spend, can be reported at either driver or vehicle level.”
Company vehicle database
“The administrator simply inputs the vehicle registration number to add a vehicle, and the system auto-uploads all relevant DVLA data, eg make, model, type, engine size, number, fuel type.
“These are details that until now the business car manager has probably been storing manually – held in lever arch file, or spreadsheet.
“Now, all this information will come through at the press of a button. It provides consistency, convenience and saves valuable time.”
