Company car tax is slashed to 13% – roughly £43 a month if you’re a 20% tax payer

SKODA has announced the eco-orientated Greenline version of the third-generation Octavia.

The Skoda Octavia GreenLine uses a 110PS 1.6-litre diesel engine and fuel-saving technologies such as low rolling resistance tyres and stop-start to squeeze out a remarkable 88.3mpg in official tests. All current Octavias share the Volkswagen group’s latest weight-saving MQB body architecture with other models such as the VW Golf, which must help a bit too.

Company car drivers will be just as interested in the CO2 emissions of just 85g/km, which means the new model enjoys a company car tax rate of  just 13 per cent. That, combined with the Octavia’s high levels of space and practicality, is bound to make it a popular choice for business.

The GreenLine model also gets special badging and a few extra such as cornering front fog lamps and “Velorum” alloy wheels.

Prices for the Skoda Octavia GreenLine start at £20,150.
