Impreza Concept highlights

  • World premiere of two Subaru design studies, the Impreza 5-Door Concept;
  • Better aerodynamics but practicality guaranteed;
  • 328PS WRX STI S207 limited edition with more power and quicker handling for Japan only so far.

FANS of the iconic rally sporting Subaru Impreza can look forward to the next generation with the unveiling  of the Impreza 5-door Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show.

It claims to achieve better aerodynamics while maintaining all the everyday practicality of its predecessors for the times it’s not being hammered along muddy country lanes.

A symphony in silver, the concept displays a wide and low stance, a hexagonal grille and a bold reinterpretation of Subaru’s hallmark ‘hawk-eye’ headlights.

Back in the here-and-now Subaru also took the opportunity to launch a limited edition WRX STI, the S207. With just 400 being built for the Japanese market, the WRX STI S207 is based on the WRX STI sports saloon but features a specially-tuned engine with power upped to 328 PS.

The car’s ultra-quick, precise handling has also been modified, with the adoption of a quicker steering ratio. A revised front bumper and larger rear spoiler add to the exclusive design of the S207.

Sadly, unless the rally sport enthusiasts of the UK can persuade Subaru otherwise, it has no plans to bring the special edition to Europe.
