E-Type Jaguar
Owners with cars that are not on the road will only have to complete a single SORN notification in future

IF YOU have a vehicle that is going to be off the road for a significant period and you do not want to pay the Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) then you must send a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) to the DVLA. Failure to do so will incur an automatic £80 fine and you will have to pay any VED that would normally have been due.

Previously a SORN lasted for 12 months. Now, the SORN will last indefinitely until you tell the DVLA otherwise. It’s a small cost saving to drivers but a very significant saving to the DVLA, both of which are to be welcomed.
