IF you’ve always fancied a Range Rover Sport for its performance, but blanched at the fuel economy, here’s an answer.

The new Range Rover Sport TDV8.

The diesel supplements the existing TDV6 diesel engine and petrol V8 and supercharged V8 engines.

The Range Rover Sport TDV8 will be shown at the Paris Show in late September, before going on sale in early 2007 at UK dealers.

The new engine gives the Range Rover Sport immense acceleration.

It has 640Nm of torque, the sort which provides instant forward surge. Economy is 25.5mpg.

Prices will be announced later.
