Business Car Manager verdict
The Vauxhall Astra Tech Line GT is a fine hatchback that those with badge snobbery might avoid. But it’s well built, good to drive, excellent on tax, and the downside of its ageing engine is being addressed with the new Vauxhall-dubbed ‘whisper quiet’ 1.6 diesel engine.
And while the engine does have its noisier drawbacks it is highly gutsy, very flexible and extremely economical. You’ll like it – but don’t take our word for it: try it on Vauxhall’s special three day test drive trial for company car drivers and make up your own mind.
But afterwards you’ll have good reason to ‘Buy British’ for your SME small fleet.
