The Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept shows another leap away from the brand’s utilitarian roots with a look that holds much in common with the Evoque and new Range Rover

LOOKS like a Range Rover I hear you say?

Well, you’re partly right, as this is Land Rover’s newest concept car.

The Discovery Vision Concept is the latest version of this iconic model that is also celebrating its 25th birthday this year.

The styling of the Discovery Vision Concept, which debuts this week at the New York Motor Show, is designed to give us an idea of how the fourth-generation version of this popular family off-roader will look.

However, unlike the current single model, Land Rover has hinted there will be a family of Discovery models, all following this same design language.

Expect a whole family of Discovery models, starting with a Freelander replacement towards the end of this year

Fresh from the pen of Design Director and Creative Officer Gerry McGovern, the characteristic stepped roofline and clamshell bonnet remain.

Where the Discovery Vision Concept moves away from the current model’s utilitarian look, is in the sleeker surfaces, slimmer lights, raked windscreen line, curvy C-pillar and conventional hatchback design. In fact, the look is more in common with current Range Rover models, such as the Evoque and Sport.
