VOLVO is trying to get potential buyers to look beyond the V60 Plug-in Hybrid R-Design’s comparatively steep £51,675 list price and weigh up some of the big tax and other savings it attracts thanks to its low CO2 emissions – especially for company car drivers.
As a plug-in, the V60 Plug-in Hybrid benefits from the government’s £5,000 plug-in car grant (PICG), which immediately makes a big dent in that high list price (although the list price remains for the P11D price of the Volvo V60 Plug-in hybrid).

Then, for business buyers, thanks to very low CO2 emissions of 48g/km, the Volvo also attracts tax advantages in the form of a 100 per cent First Year Allowance and a company car tax band rate of only five per cent.
Volvo reckons sole traders on higher-rate income tax can save the most – around £21,803 – if they have a high proportion of business miles in their mix.
